Course Objective

Students taking this course will learn all the processes in a construction project from conceptual planning to completion of the structure and the roles of engineers and architects who participate in the project. Concepts and skills that are required for civil engineers who could find themselves in managerial positions will be given in this course, such as cost estimating, bidding, progress payments, scheduling and safety.

1   To understand the processes related to the management of construction projects
2   To have knowledge about the current legislation in construction sector
3   To be able to comprehend the criteria such as time, cost, quality, ethics, security, environment and public health which are important in the stages of construction from project design to realization
4   To be able to calculate the amount and cost by reading the basic building manufacturing items from the project
5   To be able to make time management by using basic methods in construction works
