Course Objective

The detailed knowledge about the measurement of coordinates, shape and elevations of earth surface and constructions will be presented within the scope of this course. Practical applications of measurements and the use of measurement devices will be provided to students by field studies. Topographic map surveying practice will be performed as an introduction to transportation engineering.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1.To remember scale and measurement units concepts
2   2. To know instruments which capable of direct and indirect measurement
3   3. To understand and distinguish methods of land measurement
4   4.To apply the methods of measurement in land.
5   5.To determine location, shape and area on earth
6   6.To transfer the land information onto paper
7   7.To exclude result in graphs and tables with using calculation methods which applied on datas obtained from field measurements
8   8. To report studies of land measurements and the results which obtained from land measurements.
