Course Objective

With this course, it is aimed to introduce the DSS applications that DEU Industrial Engineering Department students may need in their professional lives, in the MS Excel environment, to develop students' coding and MS Excel usage skills and to obtain professional achievements suitable for the Industry 4.0 era we are in.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding decision support systems and their importance
2   Learning how to use MS Excel and the advantages it can provide in professional life
3   Gaining the ability to analyze and interpret various engineering problems with MS Excel Solver
4   Gaining the skills of recording, editing and coding macros for problem solving with Visual Basic Applications (VBA)
5   Ability to use MS Excel Solver autonomously or semi-autonomously via VBA
6   Ability to use Monte Carlo Simulation techniques with MS Excel and VBA.
