Course Objective

The aim of this course is to present classic integer and combinatorial optimization models forms to students and to make them capable of solving these models using exact and heuristic solution approaches.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To know the application areas of discrete optimization, to be able to define and formulate different problems
2   To know and use exact solution methods for discrete optimization problems
3   To know and use heuristic solution methods for discrete optimization problems
4   To be able to apply the methods described in the course with the help of computer software
5   To be able to do project work as a team using the methods described in the course
