Course Objective

To study the electromagnetic wave propagation in bounded and unbounded medium.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to express the general equations for electromagnetic wave propagation 2   Ability to describe the wave propagation in different mediums. 3   Ability to describe wave power using Poynting theorem 4   Ability to express the reflection and transmission of waves incident from one material to another. 5   Ability to develop equations for wave propagation on a transmission line. 6   Ability to investigate wave reflection from terminated transmission lines and define input impedance and standing wave ratio.
