Course Objective

This course aims to introduce the automatic control of processes and systems with modern industrial control elements such as Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), sensor and actuator.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to identify a basic industrial automation system.
2   Be able to understand basic concepts of measurement and instrumentation
3   Be able to develop PLC programs for an industrial control systems with varying degrees of complexity.
4   Be able to understand working principles of transducers
5   Be able to identify automation principles and strategies
