Course Objective

The objective of this course is to introduce the following topics:
1. types of power converters
2. diode characteristics, diode models, effects of them on RLC circuits
3. types of diode rectifiers for single and three phase systems
4. gate characteristics of thyristors
5. single and three phase controlled rectifiers
6. overlap angle and its analysis

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1	An ability to analyze power conversion with power electronic circuits
2	An ability to analyze RLC circuits with diodes.
3	An ability to analyze single phase uncontrolled rectifiers
4	An ability to analyze three phase uncontrolled rectifiers
