Course Objective

The course deeply explores membrane technologies in water/wastewater treatment and water recovery. This course comprehensively presents to students the fundamental principles, operation, and various applications of membrane technology. Additionally, it extensively covers practical subjects such as design, operation, and maintenance, aiding students in translating theoretical knowledge into practice. For students aspiring to specialize in water and wastewater treatment, this course establishes an important foundation for enhancing their skills in the field and effectively working in the industry.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to define the basic concepts related to membrane processes
2   to describe application of membrane processes in the industry
3   to distinguish the different membrane processes
4   to decide the appropriate membrane process for industrial wastewater treatment
5   to solve the basic design equations of membrane processes
