Course Objective

Water resource development is one of the most important issues of our country.
This course is made for the purpose of developing water resources functions of water structures and to explain
hydraulic and hydrological properties to students.

1 Water Structures Systems. Environmental Engineering Systems, Irrigation Systems, Water Force systems, Flood Protection Systems, River Transport Systems.
2 Hydrology. Hydrologic Cycle, Measurement of the Streams, Rivers Yield, Flow Charts, Reservoir Management Studies, Floods.
3 Ground Waters. Spring Catchment, wells and galleries.
4 Water Dams. Types of dams, Dam Site Selection, Environmental Effects of Dams.
5 Regulators and Utilities. Regulators, Spillways, Gates and Energy Breaking Structures, Environmental Effects of Couplings.
6 Water Intake Structures. Water Intake Structures Systems, Operation and Importance.
7 European Water Directive. Implementation of the European Water Directive in Turkiye.
8 The United Nations Conference Water Issue. United Nations Development Conference Results of the Water.
9 Climate Change. Impact of Climate Change on Water Resources.
10 Economic Analysis. Economic Analysis of Water Resources.
