Course Objective

The course will discuss the process of change in the field of public finance in recent years and the reflections of new approaches on budget practices, and in this context, such as gender-sensitive budgeting, social budget, citizen-oriented budget, participatory budgeting, green budgeting, global budget, child-friendly budget, fiscal democracy in budgeting. It aims to examine current approaches in public budget.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Has theoretical and conceptual knowledge about the budget.
2   2. Has knowledge about Classical and Contemporary budget approaches and interprets them by comparing them.
3   3. Has knowledge about current approaches and practices in budgeting.
4   4. Evaluates budget practices in Türkiye in terms of contemporary budget approaches and practices.
5   5. Compares and comments on new budget practices between Türkiye and other countries.
