Course Objective

The subject of the course is the introduction rigorous imaging, image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning and artificial intelligence approaches in the light of to history, museums and interpretation of fine art.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding digital image concept and Pixel as its unit element. Discussing the effects of pixel size, value and other factors that affect the representation of the real objects in digital images. Understanding Spatial Resolution. Discussing the trade-off between obtaining details of a scene and achieving a fast acquisition time. Understanding the concep of contrast, noise and bit depth in imaging
2   Understand the fundamentals of color and the color spectrum. Be familiar with several of the color models used in imaging and digital image processing.
3   Understand the meaning of frequency domain and how it differs from image domain. Be familiar with the concepts of sampling, function reconstruction, and aliasing.
4   Getting knwoledge about museums, their foundations, and importance on understanding the importance of imaging.
5   Understand the definition and scope of digital imaging. Be aware of the different art fields in which digital imaging is used
