Course Objective

To familiarize the elemental and isotopic analytical techniques in multidisciplinary fields applications in terms of improvement and motivation in the multidisciplinary analytical studies

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   He/she can evaluate the accurate mass spectrometers which are used in elemental and isotopic analysis within different disciplines purposes.
2   He/she can examine the uncertainties and its related sources, within their standards, in elemental and isotopic analysis
3   He/she can put forward the improvement of scientific problems, solutions and their related interpretation of the provided analytical data within different disciplines.
4   He/she can determine the convenient analytical technique to follow up the scientific problems linked to the elemental and isotopic data in multidisciplinary fields.
5   He/she can identify and/or improve the national and international laboratory procedures and sample preparation in the regarded multidisciplinary field.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Course will be given in the lecture hall. Depending on the multidisciplinary field, sample preparation will be evaluated. Taking notes by students are essential. Students will follow the course from lecture-notes and relevant books.

Students will perform and present only 1 homework.

Assessment Criteria

Percentage of mid-term exam is 30% to the course grade. LO1-2-3 will be examined
Percentage of homework/presentation is 20% to the course grade. LO1-2-3-4 will be examined.
Percentage of final exam is 50% to the course grade. All learning outcomes (LO1-2-3-4-5) will be examined
