Course Objective

This course aims to provide information upon causes and formation of obligation, scope of an obligation, performance or non-performance of an obligation and it s legal consequences, termination of an obligation. To establish a substantial knowledge is also aimed to provide a better understanding of other law courses will be held in following semesters.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To identify the fundamental principles in law of obligation.
2   To recognize the basic concepts in law of obligation
3   To realize and determine the concept of obligational relations
4   To identify the difference and similarities between the causes of obligations.
5   To recognize future and current conflicts deriving from law of obligations.
6   To develop solutions to conflicted fields in law of obligations in the framework of the fundamental principles of law of obligation.

4 Types of legal transactions and capacity
5 Settlement, interpretation and scope of contracts
6 Agency
7 Obligations deriving from torts and consequences of a tort
8 Midterm Exam
9 Midterm Exam
10 Conditions and consequences of absolute liability
11 Liability deriving from unjust enrichment
12 Dissolution and consequences of obligational relations, performance and nonperformance and it s legal consequences
13 Some specific issues in obligational relations such as mutual liability, contingent liabilities.
14 Dissolution of debt and obligational relations, assignments of liability and claims.
