Course Objective

To evaluate of theoretical knowledge of the agriculturel economics and agricultural policy implementations with the size of the instrument and purpose

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to evaluate the role and importance of the agricultural sector in the economy.
2   To be able to analyze that the sub-branches of the agricultural sector and the sector in comparison with other sectors' conditions of production.
3   To be able to explain agricultural policies, objectives and how to use these devices.
4   To be able to determine the significance of agriculture as economic, social and cultural point of view in the Türkiye's economy
5   To be able to evaluate the agricultural policies implemented in Türkiye and results.
6   To be able to query the effects of agricultural policies on agricultural production and the process of globalization.
7   To be able to assess the potential impacts of global climate change and that the future of humanity.
8   To be able to discuss Türkiye-EU relations and the importance of the location of the agricultural sector.

6 Evaluation of agricultural policies implemented in Türkiye (1923-1949)
7 Evaluation of agricultural policies implemented in Türkiye (1950-1979)
8 Evaluation of agricultural policies implemented in Türkiye (1980 +)
9 Agriculture in the world economy and trade
10 Globalization and Agriculture (WTO agriculture agreement and its effects)
11 EU agricultural policies and the reform process
12 EU-Türkiye relations in agriculture (CAP compliance Türkiye)
13 The current developments in agriculture (genetically modified organisms and the effects of global climate change and its consequences, GAP, KOP, and the effects of EAP Projects)
14 Discussions on the future of agriculture in Türkiye and in the world economy
