Course Objective

It is aimed to provide students a thorough understanding of the strategic importance of production planning and how production planning activities can be used to provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Demonstrate an understanding of different forecasting techniques in order to help decision making for long run planning.
2   Construct the material requirement planning matrices according to product structure tree to provide the schedule specifying the time that materials, parts and components should be ordered or produced
3   Create an aggregate production plan in order to translate business plans into broad labor and output plans for the intermediate term and minimize the cost of resources
4   Improve oral and written communication skills through group works, class discussions and presentations.
