Course Objective

To understand theory of cargo handling,
To understand different types of cargoes and special operations
To understand cargo care concept,
To understand cargo preparation, hold and tank readiness.
To understand the theory of displacement, draft survey, GM and trim.
To be able to calculate cargo quantity, drafts and trim,
To be familiar with ballasting and de-ballasting procedures
To be able to perform GRAIN loading calculations.
To be able to understand and calculate shear forces and bending moment.

4 Transverse balance calculations - understanding the concept of "sea water inlet angle"
5 Transverse equilibrium calculations and liquid free surface effect - center of gravity elevation calculations
6 GoZ calculations, Goz plotting and graph interpretation
7 Bulk cargo seven criteria calculation - stability reporting skills
8 Introduction to grain load
9 Grain load calculations and NCB Form introduction
10 Grain load calculation NCB form application
11 SF and BM calculations for box-shape ships
12 Shear force and bending moment calculations and graphical applications
