Course Objective

This course aims to provide knowledge and skills about basic concepts of the field, to learn the content and basic approaches of the curriculum, to use methods and strategies in lesson and effective teaching of values and religious concepts.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will be able to; Know the basics and aims of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge (RE) teaching
2   Know and discuss the basic approaches of the RE program
3   Recognize the principles and methods that can be used in Religious Education course and designs activities
4   Gain knowledge and skills of concept and value teaching in Religious Education
5   Know and apply drama and educational games in Religious Education courses
6   Recognize and develop different measurement and evaluation tools in Religious Education course.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Introduction of the course.
2 Basics and aims of religious culture and moral knowledge teaching.
3 To learn content and aims of learning fields in religious culture and ethical knowledge curriculum
4 Some principles and methods can be used in religious culture and ethical knowledge lesson (case method, Project-based learning, problem-based learning, cooperative learning, cognitive apprenticeship, situated learning, etc.) and classroom practices.
5 Teaching of values in religious culture and ethical knowledge lesson and practice
6 Teaching of religious concepts in religious culture and ethical knowledge lesson and practice
7 Usage of the verses and hadiths in religious culture and ethical knowledge lesson
8 Drama and educational games practices in religious culture and ethical knowledge lesson
9 Practices of micro-activities in religious culture and ethical knowledge: Units and topics of prayer learning field
10 Practices of micro-activities in religious culture and ethical knowledge: Units and topics of the prophet learning field
11 Practices of micro-activities in religious culture and ethical knowledge: Units and topics of faith learning field
12 Practices of micro-activities in religious culture and ethical knowledge: Units and topics of moral learning field
13 Practices of micro-activities in religious culture and ethical knowledge: Units and topics of culture and religion learning field
14 Measurement and evaluation in religious culture and ethical knowledge lesson and practice.
