Course Objective

With this course, students;
-will have a general view about the science of education,
-learn the basic concepts of educational sciences,
-acquire knowledge about the scientific nature of educational science, scientific research methods and techniques,
-gain the ability to establish the relationship between educational sciences and religious education and teaching,
-Learn the development of the history of Turkish education and the structure and characteristics of the Turkish national education system and gain the ability to evaluate the connection of these developments and characteristics with religious education.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will be able to define educational science and its terms, and they will be able to use them,
2   They will have information about education science and its scientific character and aspects,
3   They will understand its subfields, subjects and methods; and link them to religious education,
4   They will grasp Turkish Education System and its features, and will see the place of religious education in this scale,
5   They will see the importance of teacher in education system and make connection with this to teacher of Religious Education.

7 The structure and characteristics of the Turkish national education system
8 Formal education levels and non-formal education in Türkiye
9 The role of the teacher in the education system and the characteristics of the teaching profession
10 An overview of practices and developments in the field of teacher training
11 Teacher training in Ottoman Empire
12 Teacher training in early years of Republican period.
13 Teacher training in multi-party democracy
14 Restructuring faculties of education and other teacher training faculties
