Course Objective

Except from symbolism in Art History, Philosophy and Literature, the aim of this course is that involving with basic symbols in religions, their meanings and functions, and to help student s understanding on Islam and other world religions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   perceive religion-symbol relation
2   can classify religious symbols
3   know important symbols in major religions
4   perceive meaning, origin and function of religious symbols
5   grasp similarities and differences between religions by comparing their symbols
