Course Objective

To deeply understand the contemporary Turkish world; to comprehend the political, historical, social and cultural structure of it and identify the problems in this context, and to discuss the solutions

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Comprehends the geographical, political, social and cultural aspects of the concept of Turkish world.
2   Gets knowledge about the regions where Turks live in the world. Gets also knowledge about the free Turkish states and their historical, political, administrative, economic, cultural and religious conditions.
3   Comprehends the turning points of Turkish world in the history.
4   Understands and interprets the relations of Turkish world with other nations and states.
5   Determines the political, historical, religious, social and cultural hardships Turkish world faced and gain ability to put forward ideas on the causes and solutions of the hardships.

5 Problems based on ecenomics; Turkish labour; Importation and Exportation within Turkish World
6 Turkish world in the face of Scientific Development; Loss of Turkish world: Brain migration; Prominent Turkish Scientists in the world
7 Turkish world in the face of colonialism
8 Identity Problem in Turkish world
9 Religious and Cultural Problems of Turkish world
10 Minority Turkish Communities and their problems; The situation of Turks in the West
