Course Objective

Learning about Western Anatolian Prehistory.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to define the geography of Western Anatolia and its cultural development in this geography.
2   To be able to outline the Paleolithic and Mesolithic cultures of Western Anatolia.
3   To be able to outline the Neolithic settlements and culture of Western Anatolia.
4   To be able to explain the Chalcolithic settlements of Western Anatolia and their reflections on the future.
5   Ability to describe the Western Anatolian Early Bronze Age culture.

2 Western anatolia and Aegean geographical boundiries.
3 Surveys and excavations.
4 Aegean in the Paleolithic Age.
5 Western Anatolia, followed by the Mesolithic
6 Western Anatolia in the Neolithic Period-I (Lake District Neolithic)
7 Western Anatolia in the Neolithic Period-II (Civil and Coastal Aegean Neolithic)
8 Excavations at Mounds Ulucak and Aegean Fertilizer
9 Western Anatolia in the Neolithic Period-III (Marmara and Thrace Neolithic)
10 Ilıpınar, Fikirtepe, Hocaçeşme, Down Pınar Excavations
