Course Objective

Understanding the fundamental theories of analytical mechanics, in addition to gaining the ability to deal with mechanical problems in aspect space and phase space, as well as providing a robust basis for statistical mechanics and quantum physics.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding the basic concepts of Newton and Analytical mechanics.
2   To be able to solve fundamental problems in rotational kinematics and dynamics including moment of inertia, conservation of angular momentum.
3   To be able to solve problems using Kepler's laws and Newton's universal gravitational law.
4   To be able to solve classical mechanics problems by using Lagrangian and Hamiltonian mechanics.
5   To be able to interpret the results related to the determined problem.
6   Ability to apply Canonical Transformations
7   To be able to apply Hamilton Jacobi theory
8   Gaining the ability to operate in phase space
