Course Objective

The objective of this course is to study how different cultures and literatures are being perceived and acquired comparatively from the perspective of American culture and literature.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To distinguish some of the origins of American literature. 2   To recognize how foreign literatures are being "Americanized". 3   To analyse the reception of classical Western culture in American literature. 4   To interpret major works of world art and literature. 5   To use textual analysis in tandem with cultural context analysis.
