Course Objective

The objective of this course is to introduce students to classical Greek and Roman mythology and discuss the influences of classical mythology on Western literature and culture.

1   To be able to explain the ancient thought pattern
2   To be able to interpret and to discuss the major ancient works in Western literature, art and intellectual history
3   To be able to use textual analysis methods
4   To be able to discuss and analyze the relation between Greek/Roman mythology and literature
