Course Objective


The aim of this course is to introduce basic painting theories and concepts, modern painting; modern and creative art works that develop the ability to create a visual language appropriate to their own tendencies by trying to perceive visual and cultural knowledge and skills that can be analyzed in terms of period, technique and content as an authentic expression tool of the painting, experimenting with different techniques and materials, .
In addition to this, students should be able to relate their work to different disciplines and to criticize interdisciplinary contemporary art practices, and to provide opportunities for students to participate in face to face and dijital biennials, fairs,exibitions it is aimed to pay attention to taking occupational health and safety precautions in applications to be carried out within workshops. It is also aimed at students to implement exhibition methods, project process and presentation techniques and to observe visual conventions in all processes.

Course Contents

1 Week 1 Course start and theory homework, introduction to practice, material information and workshop presentation. .
2 Week 2- practice 1-canvas painting from theoretical research- Modern painting theory, concepts and analysis of modern painting in the history of art in terms of period, technique and content.
3 Week 3- practice 1-canvas painting from theoretical research- Modern painting theory, concepts and analysis of modern painting in the history of art in terms of period, technique and content.
4 Week 4- practice 1-canvas painting from theoretical research- Modern painting theory, concepts and analysis of modern painting in the history of art in terms of period, technique and content.
5 Week 5- practice 1-canvas painting from theoretical research- Modern painting theory, concepts and analysis of modern painting in the history of art in terms of period, technique and content.
6 Week 6 practice 2-Mixed technique application on the painting surface with modern painting techniques.
