Course Objective

Purpose: To explain the physiological basis of behaviors and to teach the structure and functioning of the nervous system in this context.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explains the structure and functions of nerve cells.
2   Discusses the nature of behavioral genetics.
3   Discusses the relationship between the central and peripheral nervous system, neurotransmitters and human behavior.
4   Evaluates the developmental processes of the human brain.
5   Interprets the physiological basis of emotions.
6   Interprets the physiological bases of social cognitive structure.
