Course Objective

The aim of this course is to develop skills of examining and evaluating textbooks, and source book regarding to teaching mathematics.

1   To be able to explain criteria about examining textbooks regarding content area.
2   To be able to comprehend studies of Board of Education about textbooks.
3   To be able to determine the priorities that should be considered while selecting books.
4   To be able to evaluate books regarding content area accurately.
5   To be able to be aware of various books regarding content area.

7 The suitability of the contents of textbooks
8 Course overview, evaluation and midterm examination
9 Conformity of textbook contents in terms of language, student level and format
10 Attractiveness of textbook content, contribution to meaningful learning and ease of use in teaching
11 Examination of the textbook for the 5th grade mathematics
12 Examination of the textbook for the 6th grade mathematics
13 Examination of the textbook for the 7th grade mathematics

Midterm and final exams are determined according to the weekly course content within the scope of the learning outcomes of the course. Within the scope of other activities, homework assignments given to students and presentations made by students are evaluated.
