Course Objective

The aim of this module is to acquire students the necessary skills for conducting scientific research.
To reach this aim students will participate research activities within the medical faculty and other related institutions based on their preference.
In observational studies, students will plan the study, develop data collection tools and questiannaires to collect data from individuals, from medical records or archive materials. Students will analyse data, present their results and interpret the findings in their report. In experimental studies that will be implemented in the laboratory, clinics or in the community, students will plan, conduct the study, analyse and present their findings.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

The objectives of Accessing Information Sources, Interpreting Information, Making a Work Plan, Preparing Methods/Materials (Preparing Surveys etc.), Carrying Out Activities (Collection of data in research, analysis etc.), and Preparing Reports are evaluated by the instructor by giving a score between 0-4. The average of the points given to the student for each objective is taken and the success score is determined by multiplying it with the credit score of the research CPM. Students who take the Research Skills ÖÇM are required to prepare a report in accordance with the defined rules.
The contribution rate of ÖÇMs to the end-of-year grade is 10%.
