Course Objective

The aim of this course is to gain the knowledge and skills for the monitoring of normal and risky pregnancies, and for the diagnosis and treatment of gynaecological and urological diseases.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain the etiopathogenesis, discuss differential diagnosis and treatment of female genital system tumors
2   Discuss the approach to a patient with a pelvic mass
3   Explain the etiology, discuss diagnosis and govern the treatment of female infertility
4   Perform follow-up of a normal pregnancy and explain probable complications
5   Explain the etiology, discuss diagnosis and govern the treatment of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia
6   Perform follow-up of a normal birth
7   Explain the etiology, discuss diagnosis and govern the treatment of menstrual cycle disorders
8   Diagnose urinary stone disease, plan its treatment and discuss preventive measures
9   Diagnose benign prostatic hypertrophy, govern its treatment
10   Explain the etiopathogenesis, discuss differential diagnosis and treatment, govern the treatment of scrotal masses

2 Prenatal care and antepartum surveillance in normal pregnancies, Obstetric Hemorrhage, nausea and vomiting in pregnancy / Hypertensive diseases in pregnancy

4 Pelvic pain and dysmenorrhoea / menstrual disorders - vaginal discharges

In the fifthy years the assessments are done at the end of each block and minimum 60 is required to be successful.
DEUMF Rules and Regulations
Article 20
a) To take the OSCE and theoretical exams, task-end progress evaluations should be 60,Mid-Term Achievement Assessment (0%) and above for the 70% of the tasks in the block. The average of the task-end progress evaluations, OSCE and written exam grades should be all 60 and above and block end grade should be minimum 60 in order to be successful from the block.

Assessment Criteria

In the fifthy years, the student success was evaluated on a yearly basis as an annual grade out of 100 points. The passing point of the period is determined as 60 (sixty).

The success evaluation score for 5. class is calculated based on the rates of the exams mentioned below.
