Course Objective

Students have access to television, radio, print media, the Internet, etc. Enable them to acquire the ability to access, analyze, evaluate and transmit messages in the media, but also to acquire a critical view of written, visual and audio media.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Recognizes communication styles and recognizes their elements.
2   Recognizes mass media
3   Understands the evolution and effects of media organs in the historical process.
4   Analyzes the effects of media on individuals and society.
5   Explains the effects of messages disseminated by media organs (political, economic, cultural, etc.) on society and the individual and how these effects are critically evaluated by recipients.
6   Understands the importance of media education.
7   Acquires the equipment necessary for the use of current media and multimedia environments.
