Course Objective

The objective is to provide students with the basic concepts and principles of analyzing stories and novels written at advanced levels of the French language and to teach the student how to read a novel and a story.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to read and understand French novels
2   Understand the fundamental approaches in the field of literary criticism and understand the distinction between them.
3   Be able to understand the basic concepts and principles of narratology
4   Be able to analyze one of the great classics of French literature or one of the novels written in the nouveau roman movement according to the basic principles and methods of narratology and explain them verbally and in writing.
5   Be able to develop suggestions on how to use texts such as novels and stories in teaching French, depending on the linguistic texture of the stories.
6   Ability to implement the suggestions developed
