ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHER EDUCATION (English)

Course Objective

In this course it is aimed to show the difference between spoken and written language, to provide composing a text which have the feature of rhetoric and communication by teaching their rules, to teach text types and orthography and spelling rules of Türkiye Turkish standart language, to upskill composing a text by using the language effectively or commenting and analysing it by this way.

1 Characteristics of academic language and writing
2 concepts and terms in academic writings
3 objective and subjective expression
4 the structure and types of academic texts (articles, reports and scientific abstracts etc)
5 writing claiming and propositions (verifying an idea, defending or opposing);
6 the formal characteristics of scientific reports and articles
7 the steps of writing reports
8 General Review, Course Evaluation, Midterm Exam
9 Explanation, discussion, establishing relations between texts
10 Showing references (citation and footnotes, bibliography)
11 Writing a title,summarization, writing keywords
12 Ethical principles to be observed in scientific writings
13 Academic text writing applications.
14 Academic text writing applications.
15 Final exam
