Course Objective

The aim of this course is to educate the students who know the basic concepts and philosophy of open and distance learning; development of distance education in the world and Türkiye; the roles of learners and teachers in distance education; technologies used in open and distance education and their solutions, open and distance education practices in teacher education.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To know basic concepts and philosophy of open and distance learning
2   To explain the development of open and distance education in Türkiye and world
3   To comprehend the role of learner and teacher in distance education
4   To know the technologies and individual teaching materials which are used in distance education
5   To analyse the problems about open and distance education and their solutions.
6   To evaluate the implementations of open and distance education in teacher education
7   To explain methods of research and evaluation in distance education.
