Course Objective

Development of student's technical and musical competence to enable her/him to perform solo recital, chamber music and accompaniment.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The student grasps technical and musical overview of works
2   The students are able to find some technical exercises for solving the technical problems in the works.
3   Interpreting the works which are written in different styles and periods for appropriate level in the piano repertoire.
4   Takes part in the project and responsibility for present the works.
5   Performs the different technical playing in the modern repertoire of the piano.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Semester Week 1: Course Description and Planning Selection of pieces for the semester and the final exam. Scope of this course includes one harpsichord piece (Scarlatti) and one concerto (Bach or Mozart)
2 Semester Week 2: Harpsichord Piece Sight-reading of selected harpsichord piece.
3 Semester Week 3: Harpsichord Piece Development of stylistic interpretation of selected harpsichord piece.
4 Semester Week 4: Concerto, First Movement Sight-reading of the first movement of selected concerto.
5 Semester Week 5: Concerto, First Movement Development of stylistic interpretation of the first movement of selected concerto.
6 Semester Week 6: Concerto, First Movement Development of stylistic interpretation of the first movement of selected concerto and memorization study.
7 Semester Week 7: Concerto, Second Movement Sight-reading of the second movement of selected concerto.
8 Semester Week 8: Concerto, Second Movement Development of stylistic interpretation of the second movement of selected concerto.
9 Semester Week 9: Concerto, Second Movement Development of stylistic interpretation of the first movement of selected concerto and memorization study.
10 Semester Week 10: Concerto, Third Movement Sight-reading of the third movement of selected concerto.
11 Semester Week 11: Concerto, Third Movement Development of stylistic interpretation of the third movement of selected concerto.
12 Semester Week 12: Concerto, Third Movement Development of stylistic interpretation of the third movement of selected concerto and memorization study.
13 Semester Week 13: Harpsichord Piece Recapitulation of the harpsichord piece studied on second and third weeks; improvement of the performance details.
14 Semester Week 14: Complete Concerto Recapitulation of the concerto studied along the semester; Repetition of complete concerto; improvement of performance details.

Main source LIST OF WORK solo or with accompaniment from the Renaissances to contemporary for appropriate level in the piano repertoire.

Supporting resources: Video and audio records of works to be performed, books of domestic and foreign written about review and analysis of the works.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The classes are given like one professor and one student. The learned must be performed on stage, for the exam and the competitions.
