Course Objective

To make harmonic analyses on guitar music which is written polyphonically on single staff system regarding the characteristics of guitar, also to be able to use the knowledge -that is learned on general harmony lessons- on guitar music. To comprehend the harmonic possibilities of guitar considering the unison feature of the instrument.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Can analyze harmonic degrees on guitar music .
2   Comprehending the harmonic and melodic structures properly on polyphonic single staff writing, determines the classically harmonic structures.
3   Can use chord formations and inversions on the examples.
4   Prepares harmonizing melody examples in different tonalities.
5   With playing typically created harmony homework on guitar, can make comparisons on different timbres.

All works written for guitar with adequate polyphonic texture and appropriate level. Furthermore, typical works and examples prepared for fingerboard harmony.

Success of the harmonic analyzing of the given guitar music. Success and creativity on harmonizing the intended melody. Aptness to alternative chord indications that will be used harmonizing and analyzing.
