Course Objective

To teach general information about antibiotic drugs to be used in surgical interventions, to gain theoretical and practical knowledge about the effects and use of antibiotics on body systems during surgical interventions

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Have a background on the basic concept and terminology of antibiotics frequently used in surgical procedures
2   Gains knowledge about the sources and general characteristics of antibiotics frequently used in surgical procedures
3   Knows the effects, routes and doses of antibiotics, which are frequently used in surgical procedures, and the interactions between other drugs and their undesirable effects
4   Knows the drug forms used as antibiotics in surgical interventions
