Course Objective

It consists in familiarizing students with the goals and objectives of Phytocenology,methods of work, history of development, object of study, species,population,plant groupings and their structure and dynamics,the main directions of modern phytocenology,methodological level of research,classification of phytocenoses.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knowledge of the branches of science of phytocenology.
2   To familiarize with phytocenological research methods.
3   Understanding the concepts of special and general phytocenology.
4   Comparing the main directions of phytocenological schools.
5   Understanding the characteristic features of phytocenoses.
6   Effective use of plant raw materials sources and acquisition of protection skills.

1 The object of study of phytocenology, the date of its development, relation to other cience.
2 Fundamentals and sections of phytocenology.
3 Training on plant groupings(Phytocenosis).
4 Characteristic features of phytocenoses.
5 Classification and naming of phytocenoses.
6 The main features of interactions between plants in phytocenoses.
7 Fundamentals of training on agrophytocenosis.
8 Midterm Exam
9 The main methods of phytocenological research, Ecological systems.Biogeocenosis and concepts close to it.
10 Dynamics of biogeocenoses and successions.
11 Vital forms of plants.
12 Synecology and dynamics of populations.
13 Fundamentals of ecophytocenology.
14 General information about cultivated plants, their origin, evolution. Vegetation cover of Azerbaijan.
