Course Objective

The purpose of the Ichthyology course is to form a knowledge base by instilling in students the anatomical structure of fish, physiological functions in the body, distribution in nature, ecological significance, lifestyle and comparative morphological analysis in general. Another goal is to create on the basis of this basis a worldview in students about the meaning of diversity and at the same time uniformity of fish. The Ichthyology course includes a number of characteristics of fish (physiology, lifestyle, distribution in nature, ecological significance, role in evolution, etc.) reflects in itself.
In this course, first of all, the analysis of the system of the Pisces world is important. On the basis of this system, the study of fish from simple to complex will be carried out. First of all, the study will consider the physiological structure of each fish, the way of life formed in accordance with this structure, its distribution in nature, as well as its ecological significance and place in evolution. Each newly learned Fish will be compared in different characteristics with the already learned Fish.In conclusion, the main stages of phylogenetic development of fish will be considered.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Pisces should know how to characterize the characteristic features of their vital activity.
2   Knows and is able to compare the morphology of fish, their distribution in nature, and the diversity of important fish. Student is able to develop this knowledge in pedagogical, field practices and life.
3   Knows how to determine the systematic state of fish by visually recognizing its representatives in the natural environment.
4   Mastering the measures carried out by the state and the population for the protection of fish.
5   It evaluates, evaluates and analyzes the characteristics of the habitat of fish.
