Course Objective

The objective of this course is to give basic concepts related to Plant World.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explains collecting plants from the nature.
2   Explains the techniques of preparing plant collections.
3   Explains the Gymnosperms and seedless plants of Türkiye and to have a knowledge about their distribution.
4   Explains the identification and recognizing techniques of flowering and non flowering plants.
5   Explains families and plants belonging to Flora of Türkiye.

1 Herbarium techniques.
2 General features of Gymnospermae, Angiospermae, Dicotyledonae, Monocotlyledonae plants.
3 Description of the morphological characters of vegetative organization (root, stem and leaf).
4 Description of the morphological characters of generative organization (flower).
5 Flower and floral diyagrams.
6 Plant identification.
7 Gymnospermae and Monocotyledonae.
8 Midterm
9 Representation of microscopic algae samples belonging to Cyanophyta divisio.
10 Representation of microscopic algae samples belonging to Euglenophyta divisio.
11 Representation of microscopic algae samples belonging to Pyrrophyta divisio.
12 Representation of microscopic algae samples belonging to Bacillariophyta (Diatome) divisio.
13 Representation of macroscopic algae samples belonging to Phaeophyta divisio.
14 Representation of microscopic algae samples belonging to Chlorophyta divisio.
