Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to learn by human pathogenic microorganisms and the importance. Characteristics of pathogenic microorganisms, isolation, and identification methods, and in their diseases epidemiology.

1   Will be aware of the health problems encountered in the current life.
2   Will be aware of the possible microbial infections factors
3   Will be conscious about methods of microbial disease prevention.
4   Microbiology of food and health care knowledge and skills to work in the field to be owned.

2 Taxonomy and pathogenic micro-organisms of humans.
3 General characteristics of the genus Staphylococcus, and their diseases.
4 Streptococcus - general characteristics of Enterococcus species and their diseases.
5 The general characteristics of Gram-positive aerobic (with oxygen) (Bacillus) and anaerobic (without oxygen) (Clostridium) spore forming bacteria, and their disease
6 Properly shaped and irregular-shaped Gram-positive rods on the general characteristics, their diseases.
7 The general characteristics of Gram-positive rod-shaped and irregular bacteria, and their diseases.
8 Overview
9 The general characteristics of Nokardiyaform bacteria and Neisseriaceae, isolation and their diseases.
10 The general characteristics Enterobacteriaceae.
11 The general characteristics of Vibrionaceae, Aeromanodaceae, Plesiomonas, Pasteurellaceae.
12 The general characteristics of Campylobacter, Heliobacter, Spirillum, Pseudomonadaceae, Legionellaceae and Brucella.
13 The general characteristics of Bacteriodaceae ve Spiroketlerin.
14 The general characteristics of Rickettsiaceae, Bartonellaceae, Clamydiaceae, Mycoplasmataceae.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The course is taught in a lecture, class presentation and discussion format. Besides the taught lecture, group presentations are to be prepared by the groups assigned and presented in a discussion session. In some weeks of the course, results of the homework given previously are discussed.
