Course Objective

The aim of the course is to teach general biology concepts with basic research and application techniques.

1   Learns laboratory working principles.
2   Knows basic microscopic examination methods.
3   Distinguish various cell types by examining cell structures.
4   Distinguish various vegetative tissues, organs, and the different formations they contain.

1 Laboratory safety and basic laboratory rules
2 Measurement units and basic laboratory techniques
3 Microscope and usage of microscope
4 Analysis of the bacterial cell in light microscope
5 Analysis of the fungal cell in light microscope
6 Analysis of the plant cell in light microscope
7 Plastids
8 Ergastic materials: Starches, Protein (Alleurons), Crystals
9 Cytoplasm acts: circulation- rotation, Plasmolysis-deplasmolysis
10 Cell division: mitosis
11 Tissues: protector tissue
12 Tissues: support tissue
13 Tissues: leaf tissue.
