Course Objective

To be able to comprehend the geopolitics of Türkiye within the scope of past-present-future relationship, to be able to acquire ability to evaluate Türkiye's political position within new international order and regional powers that are reshaped inside of this order, and to examine the importance of social studies education in terms of raising ideal statesmen and citizens within the scope of Türkiye's geopolitics. In addition, it is to be able to make predictions about the future of social studies education in the perspective of the geopolitics-education relationship.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to comprehend geopolitical position of Türkiye and the changing perception of it,
2   To be able to acquire ability to evaluate the geopolitical position of Türkiye from the point of different power centres,
3   To be able to comprehend strong and weak sides of Türkiye's geopolitical position, and to be able to acquire ability to evaluate,
4   To be able to acquire ability to evaluate Türkiye's political position within new international order and regional powers that are reshaped inside of this order,
5   To be able to make comments about in-country political activities and results of these,
6   To be able to question Türkiye's new geopolitical-geoeconomical-geosociocultural-geostrategical position on the world chessboard, and to be able to make predictions for the future.
7   To be able to interpret the relationship between social studies and Türkiye's geopolitics in terms of raising ideal statesmen and citizens,
8   To be able to examine the importance of Türkiye's geopolitics in social studies education.
9   To be able to make predictions about the future of social studies education in the perspective of geopolitics-education relationship.
