Course Objective

To introduce the theories and methods of translation studies in the context of historical development and to teach them to use them in Russian translations.

1   To recognize the basic concepts of translation science
2   To understand the theories and methods of translation studies within the framework of its historical development
3   To learn linguistic translation approaches
4   To understand the relationship of translation studies with different disciplines
5   To have knowledge about creativity and translation problems in translation
