Course Objective

This course treats art not only as a means of expression but also as an indispensable component of our cognitive activity.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   In this course the student learns that art is a way of thinking as well as a means of expression
2   thinking begins in perception and therefore is embodied,
3   mental activity is also symbolic and metaphorical,
4   meaning is context dependent,
5   artistic thinking takes place through visual shapes.
