Course Objective

The aim of this course is for students to understand the importance of individualized care in oncology patients, to understand the importance of physical and psychosocial environment in the realization of care, to know the importance of individual nursing care in the care of cancer patients, to discuss the differences in care that can be given to individuals specific to their age periods, to be aware of ethical dilemmas that may occur in the care process and to discuss solutions. .

1   Understanding the importance of individualized nursing care in the oncology patient
2   To discuss the differences in the age-specific individual care needs of the oncology patient
3   To understand the importance of the rehabilitation process in the individual care of oncology patients and their families.
4   Recognizing ethical dilemmas that may occur in individual care and discussing solutions.

- In this course, the student is responsible for developing educational material for the patient and his family by using developmental theories, individual and family education principles, and innovations in the nursing care of the oncology patient. It will be considered as a midterm exam.
- The student's presentation skills, preparation for the subject and participation in the discussions will be evaluated.
- In the final exam; interpreting, remembering, making decisions, explaining, classifying and combining information will be evaluated.
