Course Objective

The aim of this course is to plan the care of an individual who is diagnosed with cancer and is in the treatment process,
to be able to carry out, to integrate initiatives for the solution of problems that may occur into care, to provide counseling to the individual and his family during the treatment and rehabilitation process of the patient.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to plan the care of cancer patients and their families with an evidence-based holistic approach
2   To be able to integrate the socio-cultural dimension of the society in which they live in the care of cancer patients and their families.
3   To be able to use the principles of approach to oncology patients and their families in the clinical field based on their knowledge
4   Contributing to the care of cancer patients and their families, and to the solution of ethical problems they experience in society.

- Addressing the subject in patient education material and using the information will be evaluated.
- His command of the subject and handling up-to-date information will be evaluated in the preparation of the presentation.
- It is expected that homework and reports will be prepared in computer environment according to APA format.

Assessment Criteria

- The educational material prepared for the patient and his family by using the principles of student, individual and family education, and innovations in nursing care of the oncology patient will be evaluated.
- The student's presentation skills will be evaluated
- The nursing care plan prepared by the student for the care of the patient will be evaluated.
