Course Objective

Turkish Handicrafts motif located within the underlying anatomy of Turkish arts of the book illuminating the acquisition of knowledge and competence to teach the draw.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The names of Turkish illumination motifs, definition, properties, fields used, materials and types of information on.
2   Obtaining information about the classification of Turkish illumination motifs,
3   Structural characteristics of the Turkish Tezhibinin motifs, learn the rules of drawing
4   Brush drawings of motifs used in various areas of the Turkish illumination work to convert acquired knowledge and skills competency.
5   Turkish Handicrafts different motifs used within the book arts, interdisciplinary studies are expected to gain recognition and the availability of drawing

Course Contents

1 Book Arts course content motifs, giving the bibliography related to the course, the distribution of research topics
2 Turkish motifs in the definition, meaning, the changes in the historical process, design and drawing features, are used to give information about the fields, floral motifs input, leaf motif history, book arts, paper types.
3 Rosebud claw and theoretical knowledge of drawing and five leaf motifs.
4 Hatai motifs and cloud motifs and motifs on the sketch on the drawings, the slide show.
5 Information about the drawing of patterns and motifs to Rumi and chain pattern.
6 Information about geometric patterns, types and motifs drawings.
7 Power point representation for areas that use of motifs, sketches continue.
8 Motif of stylized drawing of flowers and information about carnation motifs
9 Stylized drawing of flowers, the tulip motif
10 Way of the sedge information about style, slide presentation and applications.
11 Drawing on the theoretical information and motif arabesque motif.

Turkish Handicrafts motif within the definition used in the book arts, motif names, etymologies, types
ornament drawing rules, sketch work and duties in the composition of motifs, giving the information about the theoretical and practical workshop environment, is also a visual power point presentations, group work, participation, all studies of applied studies of theoretical knowledge, (photographic documentation, practical examples, references, etc.). presentations will be informed in order to develop.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

This course involves 3 theoretical course credits; and 3 practical course credits. In the educational year, both a mid-term exam and a final exam are given to the students so as to make them comprehend the course content during the lessons. By means of the exams, how much information given by the books and notes has been grasped, and at what degree the practices related to the designs have been turned into skills will be evaluated. The students will be supposed to prepare an assignment and present it in the course systematics they have grasped.
It is important for the students to attend classes because they can improve their drawing skills and because this applied course is the main course of the discipline the students related to. So, the attendance will be taken into consideration.
At the end of the term, by considering ethical, systematic, organizational and esthetical principles, each student will represent his project with a file including project stages.

Assessment Criteria

Exams will be evaluated out of 100. This grade will be determined according to the number of the questions to be asked in the exams. And also, the project, the assignment presentation and the attendance will be evaluated out of 100.

Participation in courses taken in the course, even those from the course after the start time are taken into consideration the participation of half a course. All entries will be considered above the general rate. Towards the end of each lecture topics will be covered in the next lesson the student is offered as a subject of study and research. The first description of the issue presented in the lesson after the class discussion of research results before the study begins.
