Course Objective

Teaching the students both the process of historical development and artistic and technical features of Turkish Tiles

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Inform of causes of both deterioration of Iznik tiles at the end of 17th. Century and to be closed down of Iznik workshops
2   Distinguish artistic features of tiles in Ottoman Empire
3   . Determine civilizations which was affected from Iznik Tiles.
4   Learn artistic and technical features of Çanakkale Ceramics
5   Have a great accumulation about traditional pots production centers in Anatolia

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Students will be given a mid-term and a final exam concerning the subjects given theoretical. . The pass grade will be determined by the midterm, final exam grades.

Assessment Criteria

The midterm exam, Assignment/Presentation and final exam will be evaluated out of 100; the 20% of the midterm, the 20% of the Assignment/Presentation and the 60% of the final exam will determine the pass grade.

Course Policies and Rules

Students who come from after starting time of the course, even taken to the course, will be evaluated as participant a half-time. At the end of each lecture topics will be covered in the next lesson and the students are offered as a subject of their studies. The course begins before the first presentation of the studies.
