Course Objective

Hollywood cinema has influenced all world cinemas since its existence and created the film style called mainstream cinema. For this reason, it would not be wrong to state that the Hollywood-specific narrative style occupies the cinemas of all countries and determines the expectation and perception of the audience at the global level. The aim of this course is to examine in detail the history of Hollywood cinema, which affects all the cinemas of the country, and accordingly the mainstream cinema, and the genres of films that are brought to the fore from time to time and are never independent of the political and ideological context, in their relations with each other, and the main anti-mainstream cinema with the understanding of modernist cinema. It is to enable the student to understand the contradictions and conflicts more easily. For if Hollywood cinema is an influence, modernist cinema is a reaction to the patterns of conventional cinema. Therefore, in order to better understand reaction, students must first understand the effect well.
