Course Objective

This course aims to teach the basic rules of technical drawing and the practical use of technical drawing tools and materials.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Have the ability to use basic knowledge of technical drawing and technical equipment as a requirement in stage design practice
2   Be able to express function, aesthetics and production criteria in the rules of technical drawing in the name of presenting the design to audience
3   Be able to find technical solutions for decor/set that will be used in the area of stage and performing arts
4   Be capable of doing technical analysis to propose an alternative during the process of decor/set construction
5   Acquire the ability to compose the knowledge and express it on paper by following the recent technological developments, finding the functional sides of these in the aspects of making an original design.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1 Courses
The instructor, introduces tools, equipment and technical materials to the students. By transferring the basic rules of technical drawing and through basic drawing exercises, the insructer teach the students to make technical drawings of detailed decor/set. During the course the instructor to reinforce the rules of technical drawing by practical exercises.

2 Reviewing Sessions and Discussions
In addition to the class activities, the perspective exercises will be given to the students. The reviewing sessions about assignments-according to their presentation deadline-will be held each week in the first half-hour period of the course by the instructor. Problems that students may face while doing assignments and practices during course will be solved in these sessions. It will be encouraged that the students submit their views on designs and to participate in class discussions.

3 Tutorials
Students will be informed about assignments and class practices relevant with technical drawing of a decor/set.

Course evaluation contains, first be on time in the class ready to start with supplies and utensils and follow-up care of the application and assignments.

Student participation points to be obtained, (1) the state of attendance, (2) the student's answers to the questions asked by the instructor during the class and quality of project during class (3) and on the student's contribution for the creation of a positive learning environment.

Assessment Criteria

The student will applicate the basic tecnical drawing criteria in each project during the course.

Course Policies and Rules

1.It is obligatory to participate 80% of the classes in one term.
2.Any kind of plagiarism and attempts will result in disciplinary action.
3.Being absent in the class won't be regarded as a valid excuse for the late delivery of homework/assignments or projects.
4.Late project for each day of delay deliveries will drop points equivalent to a letter grade.
